Google Search for iPhone launched
Mobile search has just entered its next phase thanks to the launch of Google Search, Google’s revamped and hugely important new version of its Google Mobile iPhone app.
Google Search features a new mobile user interface that makes it easy to start searching as soon as it launches. In fact, the interface is now more like the regular Google.com interface. The mobile search app also includes quick access to Voice Search and to Google Goggles, which lets users conduct searches via photo.
The biggest update you’ll see in Google Search is a new toolbar which mobile users can access by swiping the screen from left to right. This toolbar is much like the one that appears on the regular Google site, allowing users to go straight to news, images, shopping, video, blog, discussion, social and place searches.
Google Search has another important and useful addition. It allows users to pick up where they left off. Let’s say that somebody calls you whilst you’re using the app. When the call is over, you can simply get back to the page you were on by tapping the lower half of the page.
You’ll also find Google’s other mobile web apps, like Gmail and Google Earth, on Google Search. This really does bring all of Google’s tools and apps into one place.
