Troubled Waters

  • May 8th, 2010 by Click Routes

Troubled WatersTroubled Waters is a small plumbing firm local to Click Routes. Their managing director, Mark Way, was exploring avenues that would help grow his business and called Click Routes for a no obligation chat about the web. We talked him through the basics and, following discussions with other local web companies, Mark chose to work with Click Routes to launch Troubled Waters online.

With no existing web site or established brand identity, our brief was to create a widely appealing, contemporary visual style that would work online and across other traditional media. Following agreement of the style, a comprehensive, easy to manage website that would attract new business was required.

Strategy

Based on competitor sites, client preferences and market research Click Routes developed a new identity for Troubled Waters that appealed across genders and age groups. Prior to starting the site build, a key phrase review was carried out to determine which phrases potential customers search for online. This review helped shape the structure of the site and determine which areas it was key for Troubled Waters to focus on when adding new content.

A Content Management System was introduced to allow comprehensive editing of the site with no need for technical knowledge. Hosting was arranged and site publishing routines were adapted to ensure each page was ‘search engine friendly’ from launch.

Results

Since launch, the site has attracted a large number of new customers for Troubled Waters and has been instrumental in the continued success of the business. Company revenue has increased significantly and new staff have been taken on to accommodate the growth. Click Routes continue to play a significant role in the online success of Troubled Waters offering regular advice on how to further leverage the potential of the web. Plans for a dedicated search engine optimisation campaign are currently being discussed.

“Click Routes’ honest and straight talking approach is what convinced me to work with them. I had limited knowledge of how a business like mine could make use of the web and their openness has changed that completely. The only reason we haven’t launched the SEO campaign is because we haven’t yet found the staff to support what we know will be an influx of new business! They’re great to work with and I highly recommend them.”
